To truly become a Lean Enterprise, Lean methodologies must be applied throughout the organization. Although there are many examples of successful manufacturing applications of Lean tools, applying Lean thinking to service, as well as non-manufacturing disciplines is not commonplace.

This two-day interactive workshop provides a comprehensive overview of the Lean tools and methodologies and their application in office and service industry applications. Lean practices can be applied immediately - return to work with a firm understanding of the power of Lean Office and how to begin the implementation process.

DAY ONE: Office Value Stream Mapping

  • Introduction to value stream mapping (VSM)
  • “See the waste”/“see the flow” - design current state and future state value streams
  • Create operation strategy and implementation plan supporting your business objectives
  • Determine function specific application ideas

DAY TWO: Lean Tools for the Office - A Lean Office Overview with Simulation

  • Comprehensive overview of Lean Production System and how Lean Office differs from manufacturing
  • Application of Lean methodologies in office and administrative business processes
  • Application of the concepts through a simulated office environment - an actual office kaizen event
